Home Remedies For Itchy Ears
If the itchiness is caused due a bug in the ear, then the best remedy would be to use mineral oil. Squirt the mineral oil in the ear canal using a bulb syringe. This will drown the bug and will clear your itchiness.
This is an effective remedy that has been used for hundreds of years to restrain the level of yeast, which is one of the reasons for itchy ears. Garlic has antifungal and antibacterial properties. Hence, it is quite helpful in eliminating yeast. You can make garlic ear oil at home by combining equal parts of extra virgin-olive-oil with coconut oil that is mixed with a few cloves of crushed garlic. Gently heat the oil for about 20 minutes. Make sure the oil does not boil or burn at the bottom. Strain this mixture and add 4 warm drops of this oil into the ear. Repeat this procedure 2 times per day for one week to notice the results.
The itchy ears caused due to dermatitis can be healed with the help of emollient oils. Coconut oil is one of the emollient oils that can be used effectively to treat this problem. Heat a small quantity of coconut oil. Before using, test the oil on the inner side of your wrist to make sure that it is not very hot. Place about 4 drops of this oil in the ear canal. Tilt your head, so that the oil is absorbed by the dry skin inside the ear. Take care not to stick any kind of object into the ear.
Cleaning your ear regularly will reduce earwax. This will help in creating moderate moisture in the inner ear. Therefore, a regular cleaning by using a cotton swab can clear the flaked skin in the ear, reduce allergens and will keep your ear free of any obstruction.
Sometimes the ear becomes overly dry, which results in an itching ear. This can be prevented by using vegetable oil regularly. This is one of the best home remedies. Dip a cotton-swab in any vegetable oil and lubricate the ear gently. This way, the skin around the aperture of the ear will be moisturized and this prevents flaky and dry skin.
Dilute white vinegar with water (in equal parts). Place 2 drops of this solution into the ear-canal daily for about 3 days.
