Deep Cleaning
A deep cleaning at least once a month is necessary for outdoor rug. For this purpose you need soap, brush and constant flow of water and bright sunlight. Take out your carpet outside, especially in garage and in garden in a bright and sunny day. Now take some soap in a bucket.
There are various types of carpet cleaning material available in the market. See the manual and use it. You can use shampoo also for this purpose. Dilute any of the soaps in warm water. Mix well and make lather. Then with the help of a brush, apply it on the whole carpet.

Do not scrub harshly. After scrubbing the whole rug wash the rug with gush of water. Hang it from somewhere so that the excess water will come out. Then place it on a clean cement surface to make it dry.
Turn it when one side is completely dry. Do not use it further unless the carpet is completely dry. Wet carpet gives birth of bacteria and create foul odor. Now take a soft brush and comb the carpet to straighten the ruffled fibers.
