Your skin reflects how you live so make sure to eat a balanced diet rich in complex carbohydrates, proteins, good fats and antioxidants, exercise well, sleep well. Keep your bowels clean to remain free of toxins and drink enough water to remain hydrated. It’s important to de-stress yourself as emotions also play a vital role in making you look the way you do by affecting hormones. Sugar causes glycation which results in major oxidation leading to wrinkles and age related skin problems. Stay away from it and the products which have it concealed in them. Always keep the skin clean.
Know Your Skin
Identify your skin type to satisfy its unique needs. Remember that skin types keep changing due to hormones , environment, diet and climate. So understand your skin by checking it regularly to know what suits you best.
Never go to bed with traces of dirt, pollution or make up on your face. Cleansers should be applied in gentle circular motion on the face with the help of cotton swabs or the tips of fingers. Yogurt contains natural alpha hydroxy acids to gently cleanse even sensitive skin. So its’ generally a good cleanser for all skin types.
Some Homemade Natural Cleansers
Dip a cotton swab in rose water, or lemon juice plus mint juice and gently wipe your face with it. Take raw milk as it is or mix it with lemon juice and apply with cotton on your face in gentle circular motion. Wash off with lukewarm water after wiping with cotton or a gentle cloth. Honey , carrot paste , tomato paste, cucumber paste with lemon juice, are all good cleansers . Apply any one of them, leave for sometime and wash off with lukewarm water. Use cream instead of milk to cleanse dry skin.
Exfoliation removes dead cells and the face looks fresh. They can be done after cleansing every week.
Rub a little sugar mixed with honey and olive oil and use lukewarm water to wash. A paste of gram , a few drops of coconut oil ,yogurt and a little turmeric can be applied on face and be rubbed off when partially dry. This can then be washed off with lukewarm water.
It enhances the beauty of face and proves beneficial in the treatment of boils pimples etc. as it opens pores and extracts the dirt out. Clean your face and apply a natural oil or butter . Steam your face till it becomes sweaty. Wipe with a clean towel and wash it with cold water. Apply some moisturizer afterwards. This can be done every two weeks.
Natural Moisturizers And Sunscreen
It is important to protect skin from sun damage and to keep it moisturized to prevent wrinkles. Aloe vera gel is good for oily skin. It is also a sunscreen for all skin types. Extra virgin olive or coconut oil are good for dry skin. Rose water with some glycerine and lemon juice added to it makes a good moisturizer for normal skin.
Time Tested Remedies
Rubbing the face with ripe papaya paste and then washing off will clear spots and blemishes. Lemon juice added to coconut oil if applied on face for a few minutes and washed off will help in fighting pimples and is good for skin.

Banana mash to fight wrinkles.Grated carrot with a few drops of olive oil for glow.Oatmeal flakes or powder with a few drops of honey for cleansing and softness.
