1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
4 oz sour cream
hot sauce if you want to spice up the dish
4 tablespoon of oil
salt and pepper for taste
Method Of Cooking
To make perfect tortillas, take 2 cups of all purpose flour and add one cup of lukewarm water to it. Add a pinch of salt and knead it well to a thick dough. Divide the dough into six equal parts and make small balls of them. Wilh a rolling pin, roll them flat and round to the maximum that you can without tearing it off. Once you have flattened out the tortillas, heat a flat pan and directly place the tortillas on them. This has to be done one tortilla at a time. Reduce the heat to medium and turn the tortillas on both sides till they feel completely dry and baked. You may also buy readymade tortillas but making them at home always adds a special touch to the dish.
In a large pan, heat the oil and add the meat and the onions. Fry them till the meat turns brown and the onions golden. Now, you may add the taco seasoning and the refried beans. Give a good stir and ensure that all the ingredients have been mixed well. Stir and cook for around ten minutes. In a separate bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and the sour cream.
Your casserole ingredients are ready for cooking now. Start off by putting the first layer of the sour cream and soup mix into the bottom of the casserole dish. Use only half of the entire quantity, as you would need the rest for the second round of layering. The next layer should be of the tortillas. For this, you would need to tear up three tortillas into tiny pieces and put them over the creamy layer. Next goes the meat and bean mixture.
Spread half of the content and make the third layer of your casserole. Repeat the entire layering process one more round and finally top it off with the shredded cheese or cheddar cheese. You may add some hot sauce to add to the spiciness of the dish. If you do, then add another layer of cheese right on top to ensure that the top layer is always mouthwatering melting cheese.
Once your casserole is ready, put it into a preheated oven at 350 degrees for around half an hour. Serve it will fresh bread and some refreshing drink.
