Parents are the first care takers and play very important role in the life of a child. The second important place in the child’s life is of a teacher. Parents always guard their children from being hurt either physically or mentally. Children aged between five to ten years face certain problems both in school and at home. It is a known fact that how much ever the parents protect their children; there exist some problems that parents are not aware of.

It is also a truth that it is not always possible for parents to protect their child from different circumstances. Children should learn to protect themselves. Children spend most of their time in schools. Shy, new teachers, new environment are the most common issues parents face when the child goes to school initially. These problems last only for some days.

It is important for parents and teachers to see that the children get adjusted to the school’s environment and its rules easily and at a fast rate. Yet it is also been observed that there exists some children who doesn’t get adjusted to school and its environment easily. Some children have behavioral problems while others have discipline problems. These can be overcome by explaining how important they are.

There are some problems such as teasing, loneliness, banishment, poor performance, socio-economic which have to be given more importance both by parents and teachers. These problems can also be faced by children in public parties.

Teasing

Teasing is the most common problem children face in the school. They would be teased by their own classmates. The teasers feel it as making them fool or cracking jokes at them. Teasing is not actually a means of harm. But it makes the child teased uneasy to sit in the class and face others.

Teasing sometimes doesn’t just end through words, it can also be physical. When this problem comes before parents, they have first discuss it with teachers rather than their own child. Discussing it with teacher will reduce the child’s weakness and increases his or her motivation.

Loneliness is also another problem children face in the school. Though the class has more number of students, the child may often feel lonely between them. Their non participation in school activities, dull and weak appearance may lead to their loneliness. Loneliness results in less number of friends. Parents should see how friendly their child is with other.

Is he feeling comfortable in going out and making friends. Parents should also make sure to know how the child decides one to be a friend. What qualities or what traits does he/ she see to make friends. It is also important for teachers to make such children indulge in group activities. Participating in group activities will enable the child to make new friends and also helps in bringing self confidence in them.

Banishment

Banishment is being an odd man out. It is different from being lonely. The child would be taken out from activities. They may not be given proper attention either by teachers or by their own classmates. How much ever the child tries to gather attention, they would be left purposely.  It may be due to many reasons. This doesn’t take place only in school. The child faces banishment even in public or private parties.

It is important for parents to take care of their child and make them understand the reason behind such banishment. If the problem exists and limits till school, the parents need to contact their teacher and explain them the situation. Sometimes children who perform poorly in academics are also banished.

Though the child is performing well in other activities, poor academic performance may also bring distance between the child and classmates. It is necessary for parents and teacher to sit together and bring out a solution for the child’s improvement in studies.

Children also face problems in school due to their socio economic status, religion and race. Problems also arise due to their appearance, color and habits.

It is always important for parents to give support to their child facing problem in school. Parents should have thorough understanding of the mind set of their child. They have to be well aware their child’s thinking, behavior and their attitude. It is always essential for parents to understand their child’s problem and resolve it.

Changing the attitude, thinking or their status doesn’t bring any solution to the problem. Children should develop self confidence in them and face the problem.  They have to take each and every problem as their challenge and face it. At the same time, parents and teachers should also provide their support to children who face problems in school and try to bring solutions to it.
