Time required for cooking: 10-15 minutes
Required Ingredients For Sandwich Recipes
8 slices of sourdough bread
1 cup of sliced button mushrooms
8 slices of salami
4 slices of smoked turkey breast
4 slices of provolone cheese
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
4 slices of deli ham
4 tablespoons of melted butter (salted or unsalted)
4 slices of cheddar cheese
1/3rd cup of thinly sliced red bell peppers
1 teaspoon of dried basil
2 large onions, finely chopped
1 Panini press
1 flathead spatula
1 sharp knife
1 stirring spoon
Method of Cooking
1. Take a skillet and place it on the stove. Add the butter to the skillet and light up the flame. Make sure that the butter is at room temperature because this makes it easier to melt the butter. Once the butter is melted, take the dried oregano in your hands and crush them. Then add the crushed oregano to the butter. Crush the basil as well and then add it to the butter. Stir to mix the herbs with the butter and let it sit on the stove while you prepare the other things.
2. Next, take another skillet and add a bit of oil to it. Set the flame on medium high and wait until the oil heats up. Once the oil starts crackling, add the onions to it. Sauté the onions for 3-4 minutes or until they turn slightly golden brown and soft. Once done, add-in the chopped mushrooms. Season the mixture with salt and pepper and stir fry the mushrooms until they are wilted and tender.
3. Now take the breads and keep them on a tray. Fetch the skillet of herbed melted butter and spread it evenly all over the 8 bread slices. Once done, top the 4 bread slices with the deli ham slices. Follow that by placing the smoked turkey breasts on top. Next, add the salami slices on the top of the turkey breasts. Top that by placing the provolone cheese and the slices of red bell peppers consecutively.
4. Next, bring the skillet where the mushrooms have been sautéed and spread those all over the 4 bread slices. Finally, top the mushrooms with the slices of cheddar cheese and close the sandwiches by placing the remaining bread slices on top of each sandwich. Now take your Panini press and spray the cooking spray all over it.
Wait for the Panini press to heat up and once that happens, put one of the sandwiches in the Panini press and close the lid of the press. Grill the sandwiches until the grilled marks appear on top of the sandwiches and the cheese melts. Once done, serve the warm sandwiches immediately.
