An outing with your baby can turn into a nightmare if you are not prepared for it. With a well stocked baby bag you can ensure that your vacation or daily outing with your child is free of any problems. Knowing how to pack a baby bag will help you keep the baby essentials in place and know where to find them when needed.
Moreover you do not need to randomly stuff baby things in your bag at the last moment which inevitably results in some things being forgotten. Here is a simple baby bag checklist that will help you stock baby items in the bag before you step out for an outing with your little one
Tips To Pack A Baby Bag
Baby Bag Checklist
Before you start off it is essential to first choose an appropriate baby bag. There are many types of baby bags available in the market including those with hot thermal lined compartments and lots of pockets.

If you are out for a long time then it is best to carry a larger bag or you can easily carry a small baby bag. However, you need to ensure that the bag has enough compartments to house all the baby essentials that you will be carrying and have comfortable handles.
Extra pair of clothes including onesies, pants, tops and socks should always be included in a baby bag. Bibs are also essential for feeding time so you should ensure that you always have two bibs in the baby bag.

Along with this a small blanket, a couple of warm clothing like sweaters or sweatshirts should always be handy. If you are planning to stay out at night then carry some baby sleepwear as well.
Carrying extra diapers in the baby bag is essential. You should have at least an extra diaper for every hour that you are out. If your baby has loose motions and diarrhea then carrying extra diapers is recommended.

In addition to this you will need a nappy changing pad, baby wipes, a baby rash cream and disposable bags to throw away the soiled diapers.
Food for Baby
If the baby has started solids or formula milk then you need to stock some food for the trip as well. Store the formula in separate containers along with formula food.
In addition to this you need to carry travel sized bottles of sterilized water. Spoons, bowls, towels, hand and mouth tissues and bibs should also be handy when feeding the baby.
You need to stock health essentials like pain relievers, antibiotics and band aids. Hand sanitizers, oils, creams and sunscreens for baby should be kept in the baby bag as well. You should also have an emergency contact list and a pediatrician’s number with you when packing a baby bag.
Always carry some comfort toys, pacifiers and teeters for a teething baby and some of your baby’s favorite items to console a crying baby on the trip. Keep the most used items on top and in other side compartments of the bag. In addition to this keep some snacks and water for you as well in the bag.
