After this, add in one egg at a time, and whisk well. Next, add the red cocoa mixture and vanilla extract and combine well. Make sure to scrape down the sides of bowl using a spatula to make sure that everything is combined well.
After this, add the dry mixture to the prepared batter, a little at a time, and mix together well. Add in half of the buttermilk and combine well. Incorporate the remaining flour mixture and fold it in well.
Take a small bowl and mix baking soda and vinegar together. Keep in mind that the mixture will fizz. After mixing, add it to the prepared batter and stir well to mix together properly. Pour the batter into the pre-greased cake pans and place inside the preheated oven. Bake the cake for about 20-25 minutes or till the inserted toothpick comes out clean.
Allow the cake to stand in their pan for a minimum of 10 minutes before removing it. After this, place a simple wire rack over the top of the pan and invert it carefully. After this, gently lift off the pan. Let the cake cool off completely before you frost it. Red Velvet cakes looks as well as tastes the best with cream cheese or butter-cream frosting.
