5 Home Remedies For Pigmentation

Home Remedies For Pigmentation

Pigmentation is an uneven skin tone. The lowermost layer of the epidermis contains melanocytes which are cells that produce a pigment known as melanin which imparts color to the skin. When the melanocytes get damaged or out of condition then the production of melanin is affected.

Either too little melanin is produced which makes the skin light in color or too much is produced which makes the skin darker. In case of too much melanin, it gets deposited on the skin in a heap. This results in discolored patches which mar one’s beauty.

Pigmentation is generally caused by too much exposure to the sun, an imbalance in the hormones, genetic factors, stress, aggressive use of makeup or skin care treatment and hair dyes. The skin cells and the connective tissues are easily damaged and the skin appears mottled, dull and lackluster.
