With the changing times the way we take of ourselves, our body and well being have also changed dramatically. With the increased usage of cosmetic products for our daily needs the health of our skin and hair have suffered detrimental effects. Amongst one of the many problems that women face nowadays are dry and damaged scalp.
With regular use of hair styling products like dryers and straighteners along with gels and cosmetic hair care products it comes as no shock that the scalp will have to bear the brunt of all the unnecessary damage. To repair your scalp thus, you need to look back at the healing touch of nature and use natural and herbal methods to do away with a dry and flaky scalp.
Home Remedies For Dry Scalp
Use Olive Oil or Almond Oil
One of the best ways to return moisture to your scalp is by massaging it with good quality pure almond oil or olive oil. These oils work excellently in replenishing your scalp with the lost oils.
A hot oil therapy would work even better. Take some oil on the palm of your hand and gently rub it onto your scalp and massage it with your finger tips. This will not only help the oil to penetrate deeper but will increase blood circulation as well.

Steam therapy is not always the best option for dry scalp as the heat can make your scalp even drier. So you can leave the oil overnight or even shampoo it after two or three hours. Tea tree oil is also a great option for treating a dry scalp.
Yogurt
If you have dandruff or a dry scalp an excellent remedy is to massage it with some fresh yoghurt. Take a small quantity of yogurt and massage it onto your scalp generously. You can mix a few drops of olive oil into it to make it richer for the scalp.
