5 Excellent Home Remedies For Trigeminal Neuralgia

Home Remedies For Trigeminal Neuralgia

Trigeminal neuralgia is a condition of the trigeminal nerve. This nerve which carries sensations of hot, cold, touch and pain from different parts of the face like the mouth, eyes, nose and sinuses to the brain becomes unnaturally inflamed or it becomes pinched
due to pressure exerted on it by a tumor or a swollen blood vessel. When this happens, unbearable pain shoots throughout the face and makes it very sensitive to the touch. The attack of pain can last till any length of time without mitigating in the least.

The pain is so disabling that one is unable to eat, drink, speak or blow the nose. It courses through the gums to the jaws and lips and from the lips to the cheeks and the forehead.  This condition is usually common among the elderly and more so in women than in men.
The inflammation of the trigeminal nerve can be caused by buildup of pressure inside the blood vessels which in turn press the nerve, nerve triggering nerve damage and multiple sclerosis.

I’ve had TN for 8 weeks now. A newbie. I want to mention how important it is to change our eating habits. If we continue to eat the typical American diet…we’re in trouble. I have kept attacks and pain in general at bay for over 4 weeks now by changing my diet. I noticed sweets, bread and MSG are what causes me problems. Any foods that cause inflamation. At this point I am eating salads, potatoes, fresh vegetables, chicken and some (not often) lean beef. I can eat chili made with basic ingredients (including quality hamburger) that’s not too spicy. Can eat basic soup recipes but not canned soup which has MSG (a major no no) smoothies made of kale and/or spinache, organic banana, organic beet powder off of amazon 2 X daily. I can eat eggs. You just have to go through your diet and exclude the sugar. As far as other foods it’s trial and error. Eat a few bites and wait 20 minutes to see if it triggers pain. Not sure if I’ve been lucky or not but changing my diet and basically eating like I should be has changed everything. Look up the vitamins etc that your body needs to heal itself also. Get online and look up everything until you find what works. Look up food for TN, herbs and vitamins for TN, natural cures for TN, etc…I do believe there is hope but if you’re sitting back in your recliner eating [email protected]$…No…you won’t cure it!
