After a hectic night of fun and partying, all you want to do is hit the sack. Most women are rather careless and do not bother removing their make up at night. This can prove to be disastrous for the skin, as the chemicals in the makeup clog the pores of the skin and do not allow the skin to breathe. An essential beauty routine that all women must incorporate is effective make up removal. It is not very tedious and with the right ingredients, you can retire to slumber land with soft and glowing skin.
Essential Tips On Make Up Removal
Things You Will Need
If you apply a lot of makeup, do invest in a quality cleansing milk that removes base make up. This will be available at most cosmetic stores. Go in for reputed brands only. Special cleaning solution is also available for eye makeup as the area around the eyes is very sensitive. You will also need a face wash for your skin type to remove all remnants of the cleansing milk. A hydrating moisturizer will follow this up. You will also need some swabs of cotton wool.
The First Step
As a first step, tie your hair up so that it does not get into your face while you are removing the makeup. Always start with the eye makeup. Gently dab a swab of cotton wool into the cleansing milk and wipe off all eye make up from the lids, eyebrows and underneath your eyes. Eye make up removal will need 2-3 applications of cleansing milk as it is the most difficult to remove. Be careful not to let the cleansing milk go into your eyes as this may cause your eyes to burn and turn red. Once the eyes are done, clean your face.
Take a fresh swab of cotton wool and apply liberal amounts of cleansing milk all over your face. Now wipe clean with gentle strokes. Foundation and base make up is easy to remove and comes off easily with good cleansing milk. Repeat the procedure if necessary to ensure that all make up has been removed.
Washing Your Face
The next step to make up removal is washing your face. Take a hydrating face wash and gently rub a dollop all over your face. Splash cold water on your face such that all traces of makeup and cleansing milk are removed. Pat the face dry with a towel.
Toning The Skin
A night time beauty ritual is incomplete without a toner. Make sure you tone your skin with an appropriate toner. Gently pat the toner all over your face with a cotton ball. Once the toner has dried up, now is the time to moisturize the face.
Slather liberal amounts of moisturizing night cream all over your face and neck and let it soak into the skin. With this, your make up removal technique is complete. You can now get up in the morning to a vibrant, soft and glowing skin. Ensure that you use only good quality cleansing milk. Check the expiry date of the product before use.
