Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 1 hour
Ground beef: 1 pound
Fresh bread crumbs: 1 cup
Onion (chopped): 1 medium sized
Green bell pepper: 1 medium sized
Tomato Sauce: 8 ounces
Salt: 1½ teaspoons
Pepper: ¼ teaspoon
Water: ¾ cup
Brown Sugar: 2 tablespoons
Mustard: 2 tablespoons
Vinegar: 1 tablespoon
1. Preheat the oven to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Mix together the ground beef, onions, bread crumbs, bell peppers, egg, pepper, salt, and half of tomato sauce. Make sure to mix them well but do not over-mix. Make it into the shape of a loaf and place inside a shallow pan.
3. Whisk together brown sugar, water, vinegar, and mustard till the mixture becomes smooth. Pour this mixture over the meatloaf and allow it to stand for some time.
4. Bake the meatloaf in the oven for a minimum of 1 hour;make sure to continue basting the meatloaf using the pan juices after a gap of 20 minutes. Allow the prepared meat loaf to rest for at least 15 minutes before cutting it and serving it.
