Acne is a common skin ailment which generally occurs at the time of puberty. It happens due to hormonal changes in the body and girls are more susceptible to acne than boys.
This type of acne generally disappears once the person has attained puberty, but normal acne skin care is essential at this time.Other factors responsible for acne are poor facial hygiene, improper eating habits and malfunction of digestive system. Acne skin care has to be done internally and externally to treat it permanently.
Acne Skin Care Internally
At the sight of acne most people start using external remedies to deal with it, but acne is also caused due to internal problems like indigestion, impurity of blood and dehydration. A few changes and reformation in your daily diet can help to treat acne effectively.
Drink more Fluids
Your body contains 75% water and that is what makes your skin clear and healthy. You should drink enough liquids for detoxification and to remove impurities from the blood.Drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. Water is the best cleanser, it keeps your bowel function in good shape and acne caused by digestive disorder is cured with water therapy. Instead of aerated drinks opt for smoothie, milk shake and sherbet. Rose sherbet is extremely beneficial for acne skin care. Soak 8-10 rose petals in a glass of water overnight. Next morning crush the petals to make a paste and strain the water. Give it one boil, add honey or Mishri to taste and drink it when cool.
Cucumber, tomato, cabbage, bell pepper, carrot and lettuce are loaded with skin friendly vitamins and minerals. Eat at least one bowl of salad with your daily meals to treat acne.
Fresh fruits are antioxidants and they have high water content. Citrus fruits like grapefruit, orange and lemon have rich amounts of vitamin C that helps to keep skin acne free. Watermelon, kiwi, avocado and papaya are beneficial for acne skin care.
Acne Skin Care Externally
External skin care is as important as internal skin care. Keep your skin clean by following the daily skin care regime with cleansing, toning and moisturising. Exfoliate your skin once a week to revitalize your skin. A face pack to treat acne should be applied once or twice a week for acne skin care.
Extract the juice of 8-10 basil leaves, add equal amount of lemon juice and apply on acne till they are completely cured. Basil will prevent acne scars and it heals pus in acne.
Mix 1 tea spoon nutmeg powder with milk to make a paste. Apply the paste on affected areas and leave it on till dry. Wipe softly with wet cotton. Nutmeg heals acne and removes scars effectively.
Sandalwood is extremely beneficial for treating skin problems especially acne. Sandalwood essential oil is an effective remedy for acne skin care. Take a few drops of sandalwood essential oil, mix equal amount of almond oil and apply on acne spots.Make a paste with sandalwood powder and rose water and apply it on affected areas for acne skin care.
