The tamarind extract is collected and mixed with water. The mixture is filtered well to remove small particles. The tamarind extract is used for gargling two times in a day for a duration of two days.
Turmeric powder is an antiseptic and acts as a great remedy. Turmeric is a component that is medically important in mixing it as an ingredient in the syrup. This syrup is used for fighting the infections. A 1/4th teaspoon of turmeric is added to the 200ml of hot water which is sufficiently hot for drinking purpose. This turmeric water can be taken little bit every day and the same is repeated for three days. The people who are suffering from ulcers must not consume it with bare stomach while other people can take it.
Garlic oil is known to be solving heart problems and is recommended by many doctors for their patients. It is also found that difficulty in swallowing because of sore throat is also solved by the consumption of garlic oil. Consuming three to four drops of garlic oil is mixed in 1/4th cup of water and is used for gargling every day at least once.
The fenugreek seeds can be used for gargling in the throat and can be used as an effective medicine for treating the sore throat. Clean fenugreek seeds are gathered in two tablespoons full and taken in a bowl along with 400 millilitres of drinking water. The seeds are boiled in this water for about half an hour. Then the water is allowed to reach normal temperature and it is filtered to remove all the remaining seeds. The fenugreek extract also works well for gargling.
Cinnamon is more effective in treating the sore throat initiated by the common cold. Three drops of cinnamon oil is mixed with the one teaspoon full of honey and is used for consumption to get break from sore throat. If the cinnamon oil is not available, a little amount of cinnamon powder mixed with little bit of pepper are boiled in 300 millilitres of water for a period of five to seven minutes. The extract is filtered and heated to the required extent. To this extract two teaspoons of honey are added and mixed thoroughly. This mixture can be taken one time every day for about five days.
Sore throat can be cured by taking the honey and vinegar mix. The bacterium present in the honey can lead to infant botulism in children below two years of age. Honey for this reason might also cause allergic reactions in children. The preparation is done by mixing honey with the same quantity of apple cider vinegar to the eight ounces of warm water. This mixture is taken little by little whenever the person suffers from sore throat. Vinegar can also be used for gargling in another form that comprises of salt, water and vinegar mixture. This mixture is used for gargling for every 15 minutes.
