Use petrolatum or petroleum jelly and mix it with flower of sulfur. However, sulfur should not be swallowed as its poison. Moreover, not only does it smell awful, but can also put stains on clothing. Nonetheless, it has the ability of killing the scabies mites. A 95% petrolatum and 5% sulfur mixture should be used for children while a 10% sulfur mixture can be used for adults. Before applying a mixture, a soaking and warm bath should be taken. It has to be applied before sleeping from neck to toe for 3-5 nights. To cover everything, let someone else apply it.
Hot water (around 140 F) should be used during this period for laundering your clothes. It is not possible for the mites to survive for more than 5 minutes in more than 120 F temperatures. They can also be killed with ironing or dry cleaning.
Relief from itching can be sought with the help of antihistamines such as Benadryl or diphenhydramine. Sometimes, itching can also be controlled with the help of a shot course of oral or topical steroids.
A sauna can also be taken. The mites can also be killed successfully with the help of this dry heat. If possible, sauna should also be added with orange oil. The mites will be killed by this oil and skin will also be sanitized because it possesses citrus properties.
Add an anti-septic liquid to hot water daily and wash all your bedding and clothing in it. This will cause a lot of discomfort and is also highly painful. However, it has to be done for a week at least, in order to get the desired results. Use hot water for washing bed clothes and wash linen. Dry cleaning the whole wardrobe, rugs, and furniture is not necessary because mites generally do not live away from the body for long.
Use rosemary, thyme, peppermint, spearmint, pennyroyal and sage and mix them together for a baht that can kill the mites and soothe the skin. Two quarts of tea should be made and dumped in bath water.
Itching skin can be soothed with quercetin and onion has 3% of it. Use a quart of water for boiling 6 onions for 15 to 20 minutes and apply the liquid on the body when it cools down. Scabies can be killed in this way.
A perfume pillow of orange oil can also be made and kept in bed all the time. Put a few drops of this oil into a large handkerchief after it has been folded. Keep this in the middle of the bed as well as in all the corners. It is said to be the ideal way to discourage the mites from gaining any strength.
