Method of Preparation For Shrimp Cocktail Recipe

1.  Hold a shrimp in your left hand and remove the shell and head from it. Then slowly slit the back side of the shrimp to take out the black object from it. Make sure that you don’t forget to do that with any of the shrimps. Once done, put them aside and keep a bowl in front of you.

In that bowl, put the water, ice cubes, 2 tablespoons of kosher salt and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Then stir the solution until all of the salt and sugar dissolves in the water. Once done, put all the shrimps into the water.

2.  Then insert the bowl into the refrigerator and let the shrimps sit in the brine solution for 30 minutes. While the shrimps are sitting in the brine water, prepare the sauce for the cocktail.

For that, blend the horse radish and whipping cream in a blender until smooth. Then add the tabasco sauce, tomato ketchup, worcestershire sauce, a little salt, black pepper, garlic powder, sugar, and lemon juice to the cream. Give a final whisk to the sauce to combine everything very nicely.

3.  Once done, transfer the sauce to a bowl and store it in the refrigerator for a few minutes. Now, take out the shrimps from the refrigerator and wash them under cold water.

Place them on paper towels to get rid of the water. Once the shrimps are dried, take them in a bowl and sprinkle with a splash of olive oil and old bay seasoning mix. Then arrange the shrimps side by side on a cookie sheet and place that in the broiler.

4. Broil the shrimps for 2 minutes on each side. In the meantime, cut the lettuce leaves into thin strips and arrange them on the two martini glasses.

Then take out the shrimps from the broiler and place 5 shrimps on each martini glass.  You can arrange them as you like. Finally, equally divide the sauce and drizzle it over each glass and serve.
