Easy Fried Chicken Recipes

There is nothing like a platter of fried chicken. It turns the mouth watery almost immediately after coming in sight. However, there is a special kind of fried chicken recipe that has caught everyone’s attention due to its amazing texture and flavor, and that is the crispy fried chicken. However, if you are tired of spending thousands of bucks in restaurants in order to get a bite of your favourite crispy fried chicken, think again. You can now prepare those heavenly fried chickens right at your home without spending thousands. Just follow this simple recipe to make yourself a master of crispy fried chicken.

Ingredients

3 lb. + ½ lb. of chicken
2 cups of buttermilk
1 teaspoon of paprika
1/4th teaspoon of dried rosemary
½ teaspoon of ground white pepper
1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
1/4th teaspoon of dried oregano
1/4th teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder
1/4th teaspoon of dried thyme
2 quarts of vegetable or peanut oil, for frying

For seasoned Flour

2 cups of all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon of onion powder
½ teaspoon of paprika
½ teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4th teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder
½ teaspoon of ground white pepper
1 teaspoon of salt

Cooking Process

1. Rinse the chicken pieces very nicely by rubbing them with your fingers. Then remove the skin if you wish. Once done, throw the chicken pieces into a large bowl and then add the required amounts of cayenne pepper powder, salt, ground black pepper, ground white pepper, dried thyme, dried oregano, paprika and dried rosemary to the chicken pieces.

Toss the chicken pieces with the spices, herbs and seasonings and then keep them aside. Now pour the buttermilk over the chicken pieces and let them stand in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours.

2. Once the mentioned time gets over, take a shallow dish and spread the all-purpose flour in it. Add salt, ground white pepper, cayenne pepper powder, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder to the flour and then stir to combine all the added ingredients.

Now take a Dutch oven or deep skillet and place it over the stove. Fill up the skillet with 2 quarts of oil and set the flame on high. Place a frying thermometer in the skillet or Dutch oven to note the temperature.

3. Now take the chicken pieces and dredge them in the flour one by one. Once dredged, transfer them over to a plate and set them aside. Cover the chicken pieces with a damp towel and let them sit for 20-30 minutes.

Once done, uncover the chicken pieces and then note the temperature of the oil. If the thermometer points at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, take some of the chicken pieces and glide them carefully into the boiling oil.

4. Fry the chicken pieces for 20-30 minutes or until they turn tender and golden brown from outside. The outer coating of the chicken pieces should turn extremely crispy. Once that happens, transfer the fried chicken pieces to a plate covered with paper towels to discard the excess oil. Now fry the rest of the chicken pieces and then serve them hot after 5-10 minutes.
