Rum is an alcohol, which is prepared by distilling it from sugarcane juice or molasses. This beverage has many varieties like light rum, dark rum, coconut flavored rum, golden rum, aged rum or old rum and each of these varieties are either used solely or in combination to prepare various types of drinks.

Mai Tai Cocktail

Ingredients

1 oz. of dark rum
1 oz. of Cointreau
1 oz. of light rum
A dash of fresh lime juice
1/4th oz. of Amaretto
2/3rd oz. of fresh pineapple juice
2/3rd oz. of freshly squeezed orange juice
1 wedge of pineapple, for garnishing
1 fresh maraschino cherry, for garnishing
A sprig of mint leaves, for garnishing
1 wedge of lime, for garnishing

Tools

1 highball glass
1 jigger
1 ice spade
1 knife

Procedure of Mixing

1. Fetch a fresh lime and cut it in half. Put one of the lime halves into a citrus press to squeeze out fresh lime juice from it. After that, extract out fresh orange juice in the same manner. Next, take a fresh pineapple and cut out 10-12 chunks from it.

2. Throw 9-11 pineapple chunks into a mixing glass and then muddle them up with a muddler. Once done, strain the pineapple juice to separate out the pieces of pineapples from it and to get only the clear juice. After that, fill up a highball glass entirely with ice, leaving some space for the drink.

3. After that, measure out 1 oz. of light rum using a jigger and pour that into the glass. Follow that by measuring and adding the Cointreau and the Amaretto. Next, pour the lime juice into the glass. Once done, pour the orange juice and the pineapple juice into the glass to fill it up. Finally, add the dark rum and then garnish the drink with a wedge of lime, 1 maraschino cherry, 1 wedge of pineapple and a sprig of mint leaves.

2 oz. of Jamaican dark rum
A dash of grenadine syrup
1 oz. of Gin
A dash of fresh lime juice

1 martini glass
1 cocktail shaker
1 ice spade
1 bar strainer
1 jigger

Procedure of Mixing

1. Fill up a martini glass with ice cubes to keep it chilled while you mix the drink in the shaker. Now take a shaker and fill it with 5-6 ice cubes. Then measure the required amount of Gin and pour it into the cocktail shaker. Next, add the Jamaican dark rum, fresh lime juice and the grenadine syrup to the Gin in the shaker.

2. Once everything is added, seal the shaker tightly and then give it a nice shake to mix everything. Now discard the ice cubes from the cocktail glass and strain the Rumba cocktail into it by using a bar strainer.

1 oz. of light rum
½ oz. of Triple Sec
A dash of freshly extracted pineapple juice
½ oz. of Amaretto or Crème de Almond
A dash of fresh orange juice
A wedge of pineapple, for garnishing
1 teaspoon of simple syrup
1 oz. of dark rum
½ oz. of 151 proof rum

1 Boston shaker
1 highball glass
1 bar strainer
1 knife
1 citrus press
1 muddler
1 mixing glass

Procedure of Mixing

1. Slice a fresh pineapple into small chunks and then use 10-12 of them to muddle up and extract out the juice. Retain 1 wedge of pineapple for later use. Next, cut up an orange in half and then squeeze it with a citrus press to get the juice out of it. Once done, take a Boston shaker and fill it with lots of ice cubes.

2. Then use a jigger to measure out the required amounts of ingredients and then pour the light rum, Amaretto and the Triple Sec in the shaker one after the other. Next, add the simple syrup, a dash of fresh orange juice and a dash of fresh pineapple juice. Once everything is added, invert the other part of the Boston shaker over the tin part and then shake it up nicely for a few seconds to mix the drink.

3. Then fetch a highball glass and fill it up with ice cubes. Once you are ready with the drink. Strain it directly into the ice filled highball glass and then finish the drink by adding the dark rum and the 151 proof rum on top. Finally, serve the drink by dropping a pineapple wedge into the glass.

1 teaspoon of egg white substitute

Procedure of Mixing

1. Take a fresh lemon and slice it in half using a sharp knife. After that, put the lemon halves in a citrus press and then squeeze them to take out the fresh juice from them. Once done, set aside the citrus press and then take a cocktail glass. Drop some ice cubes into the cocktail glass and then set it aside.

2. Next, fill up a cocktail shaker with some ice cubes. Then pour the stated amounts of light rum, egg white substitute, dark rum, passion fruit juice and a dash of fresh lemon juice into the cocktail shaker. Now secure the cocktail shaker tightly with its lid and then give a good shake to mix all the ingredients.

3. Once done, throw away the ice cubes from the cocktail glass and then pour the prepared drink into it by holding a strainer over the cocktail shaker to prevent the ice cubes from flowing down into the cocktail glass. Once done, serve the wonderful drink with a sprig of mint.

1 red maraschino cherry, for garnishing
1 wedge of orange, for garnishing

1 mixing glass
1 bar strainer

Procedure of Mixing

1. Take a pineapple and cut it into small pieces. Then throw the pineapple pieces into a mixing glass by retaining 1 piece for later use. Take a muddler and muddle the pineapple pieces until they all break up to give you a thick puree.

2. Once done, strain the clear pineapple juice out of the puree and then set it aside. Next, take a highball glass and fill it up to the rim with ice cubes. Measure out the light rum and pour it into the glass. Next, add the coconut rum, dark rum and the fresh lemon juice.

3. Finally, add the pineapple juice, orange juice and the grenadine syrup to the mix. Once prepared, garnish the drink with a wedge of pineapple and a maraschino cherry and then serve it with a long straw.
