Effective Natural Cures For Stye
Stye can be cured by applying a hot water compress. As it is caused due to rubbing eyes without washing hands, so before compressing your eyes, make sure you wash your hands with antiseptic, and then take some sterile gauze, dip it in hot water, squeeze the excess water and apply it on the eyelids. Repeat this for 10 minutes, three to four times a day. Make sure do not place the same infected part of the gauze on your eyelid; replace it with a fresh one after each usage.
Salt Water Eye Wash
Stye is a bacterial infection and salt water application flushes out the bacteria. Wash your eyes with lukewarm water mixed with a teaspoon of salt, at least 4-5 times a day. Then follow it by compress with hot tea bags. It might burn a little but you will notice that the stye will quickly shrink. It will absorb the bacteria and will provide relief from pain. This process will also give you a soothing feel to the eyes.
Turmeric is known to be a very good natural remedy for bacterial infections. As turmeric had anti bacterial and anti fungal properties, it works if taken with milk; drinking twice a day turmeric milk will make a difference to the sty. Although the taste is not that good but this natural home remedy is easy to follow for the cure of stye.
Coriander Eye Wash
Boil 2 cups of water and put 2-3 tsp of coriander seeds in it, let it cool. Use this water as an eye wash. You can also store this eye wash in a clean eye drop bottle for the entire day. Do not use the stored eye wash for more than 24 hours.
Stye can also be a result of low immunity and poor health; thus zinc and vitamin C supplements are helpful to cure this eye ailment. As zinc increases and boost up the immune system and vitamin C heals all kinds of skin troubles.
As mentioned above, it also causes due to stress. Staying at home will not only give proper rest to your eye but also will keep you away from aggravating the infection part. Since stye is an infectious eye disease, it is better to stay away from crowd and public places; this stops the possibility of the transmission of the disease. If these natural remedies do not work then you must consult a doctor. Doctors may give you some anti biotic ointments or eye drops to use.
