Dal makhni is a recipe made up of lentils. Generally, children hate lentils because of boring flavor but this recipe is a transformation of boring lentils into an amazingly tasty and rich recipe. It has a royal flavor as it contains a lot of butter and cream. It is mostly preferred in India but nobody would dislike it if he tastes it once. You would love having it again and again.
Black gram- 1 cup,Kidney beans- 1/2 cup,Tomato puree- 1 cup,Garlic- 4 to 5,Red chilli powder- ½ tsp,Butter- 3 tbsp,Cream- 2 tbsp,Salt
Take all the lentils and wash them properly in running water. Then, soak them in water overnight. Next day, drain them and put in a cooker. Add water and cook properly.Then after cooking the lentils, rinse them and put again in the pressure cooker. Add some water, tomato puree, butter, garlic, red chilli powder, cream and salt. Stir them well. Again cook for some time on a high flame. Then, check the consistency of dish. Lentils need to be perfectly cooked.Now, mash some lentils to thicken the consistency of recipe. Cook properly for 15-20 minutes and serve hot with butter naan or fried rice.
Masala Ladyfinger (bhindi)
Ladyfinger is one of the most preferred vegetables in India. It is a favorite dish among the grownups but children look at it as a boring stuff. So, the Masala Bhindi recipe is a refreshed version of the traditional Ladyfinger recipe which would be definitely loved by the kids also. A mix of spices with dry mango powder adds a magic to it.
Ladyfinger-250gms,Onion- 2 big,Tomato- 1,Ginger- 2 long piece,Garlic- 2,Coriander powder- 2tsp,Red chilli powder- 1tsp,Green chillies- 2,Dry mango powder- 1tbsp,Oil- to fry
Wash the ladyfingers well in running water, dry them on a plate. Now remove the base and stalk from all of them and chop into medium sized pieces.Take a pan and heat oil in it. Add chopped garlic, ginger, onions, green chillies and tomatoes. Cook for 5-6 minutes. This combination of onion and green chillies fried together gives an amazing flavor to the recipe.Now add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder and dry mango powder (it acts as a magical ingredient in this dish). Then add the chopped ladyfingers. Cover the lid and cook for 8-10 minutes. And you are ready to enjoy the yummy Masala Ladyfinger recipe with your family. Serve it with soft chapattis and Raita.
How To Make Delicious Raita
Raita is very easy to make at home. It accompanies and enhances the taste of a dry (non-gravy) recipe. It is very refreshing and healthy too because it is made of yogurt.
Yogurt- 2tbsp,Roasted Cumin seeds- 2tsp,Red chilli powder- 1 tsp,Grated Cucumber – 1,Salt,Water
Take a large bowl and put grated cucumber in it. Add roasted cumin seed, red chilli powder and salt to it. Then, add yogurt and water. Blend it properly and your Raita is ready.
Capsicum – 4 hollowed,Potato- 4,Onion-1,Green chilli- 2,Cumin seed- 2tsp,Turmeric powder- 2tsp,Red chilli powder- 1tsp,Dry mango powder- 1tbsp,Coriander leaves,Oil,Salt
Take the potatoes and boil them properly. Then, peel and grate the potatoes. Keep aside.Now, cut the top of capsicums and remove the seeds. Wash them in running water. Then, heat oil in a pan and fry the cumin seeds and onions till get brownish in color. Now add the chopped green chillies and after 5-6 minutes add all the spices to it and stir.Then, you need to add the grated potato to it and cook properly for 4-5 minutes. Mash this into a thick paste. Now, remove it from the flame and allow to cool.Now, take all the capsicum and with the help of a big spoon, fill this potato paste in them. Fill it properly and make a smooth surface at the top. Then, heat some oil in another pan and the capsicum one by one. Fry them for 5-6 minutes and your stuffed capsicum dish is ready to serve.
