Here are some great recipes for preparing your own homemade scrubs for dry skin
Morning Citrus Scrub
1 cup of olive oil
1 tablespoon of lemon zest
1 cup of sea salt
Few drops of grapefruit essential oil
Mix all the above mentioned ingredients together and store the prepared scrub in a tight-lidded jar. To use this homemade scrub, wet your face and gently massage the scrub on your facial skin using circular motion. After rinsing you will be left with cleansed, nourished and glowing skin.
Coconut, Vanilla And Brown Sugar Scrub
½ cup of coconut oil
½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
½ cup of brown sugar
To prepare the scrub, mix the 3 ingredients mentioned above together and use it on your damp skin, while scrubbing gently using circular motion. Rinse off to get beautiful and well-moisturized skin.
Rose Petal Scrub
1 cup of brown sugar
2/3 cups of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of either jojoba oil or almond oil
Few rose petals (red or pink)
Mix coconut oil with a handful of rose petals and store in a jar. Then add brown sugar and top with jojoba or almond oil. Remember to prepare this scrub few days before you need to use it. Once ready, mash up the ingredients with a big spoon and apply all over your facial skin, massage well, then rinse off.
Avocado And Ground Almond Scrub
1 ripe Avocado
½ cup of ground almonds
1 cup of ground oatmeal
Mix all ingredients together and use it to scrub your face and neck. This scrub has a rich and buttery texture and helps to nourish and moisture dry skin, besides exfoliating it perfectly. In case you don’t have almonds on hand, you can replace it with ground hazelnuts as well.
Orange And Honey Scrub
2 tablespoons of Ground Oatmeal
2 tablespoons of Ground Orange Peel
1 tablespoon of Honey
Mix together the above mentioned ingredients and adjust the consistency by adding water till you get a thick paste. Apply all over your face and massage using small circular strokes. Allow it to sit on the skin for few minutes then rinse off to get nourished skin.
2 ripe bananas
2 tablespoons of ground sugar
Mash 2 ripe bananas and mix sugar to form a paste. You can also add a tablespoon of honey for extra moisture and hydration. Massage on your face for 3-4 minutes then wash off to cleansed and hydrated skin.
Papaya And Yogurt Scrub
½ cup of ripe papaya
2 tablespoons of hung yogurt
1 tablespoon of honey
3-4 drops of lemon juice
Mash the ripe papaya pieces with a fork and mix all other ingredients to prepare your homemade scrub for dry skin. Massage on the skin using circular motion to get beautiful skin.
Tomato And Oatmeal Scrub
2 tablespoons of ground oatmeal
2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
1 ripe tomato
Cut the tomato into large and thick slices and mix the sugar and oatmeal together. Dip 2 tomato slices in the mixture and rub on your skin using gently circular strokes. Once you have scrubbed your entire face, take other tomato slices and place on your face for few minutes. Tomatoes are natural bleaching agents and oats help to soothe the skin. Once rinsed off, you will be left with beautiful skin and glowing complexion.
