Sea salt is a natural detoxification agent. It absorbs toxins from the skin that your regular soap cannot remove. With regular use, it protects your skin from the environmental toxins that harm the skin cells.
It is the ideal soap for the pimple prone skin. Sea salt is a powerful antiseptic agent. It kills germs that cause acne breakouts and other minor skin infections. With regular use, sea salt soap helps in reducing acne breakouts.
Maintains Natural Moisture Balance
Sea salt soap cleans your skin without making it dry. The minerals present in sea salt help in maintaining the natural hydration of the skin. Moreover, the homemade sea salt soaps contain natural plant oil that moisturizes the skin and makes it soft and supple.
Fights Skin Aging
The minerals in sea salt stimulate collagen production. By exfoliating the dead skin, sea salt soap also helps in promoting growth of new skin cells. Moreover, rubbing the sea salt soap on your skin improves blood circulation in the skin, which adds a natural glow to your skin. With regular use, sea salt soap helps in slowing down aging of the skin.
Sea salt contains minerals such as potassium, calcium and magnesium that help in relaxing the muscles. Bathing with sea salt soap is a wonderful way of releasing your muscle tension. It helps in soothing your sore muscles and helps you to relax.
How To Make Sea Salt Soap
In a pan, blend 19.5 ounces of coconut oil, 2.6 ounces of palm oil, 2.6 ounces of olive oil and 1.3 ounces of castor oil. In a separate pan, mix 4 ounces of lye with 8.5 ounces of water. Keep the lye solution aside and let it cool. When the temperature of the lye solution falls below 130 degree Fahrenheit, mix it with the oil mixture. Keep on stirring the lye and oil mixture with a stick blender until the light trace starts forming. If needed, you can add essential oils of your choice. Essential oils add fragrance and healing properties to the soap. You can add rose, rosemary, lavender, eucalyptus, cedarwood, geranium or bergamot essential oil. Now add 26 ounces of fine grain sea salt and blend the salt with the soap solution. Pour the solution in a mold and keep it aside. After the soap hardens, remove it from the mold and cut it into small pieces. Keep the soap in an airy room for four to six weeks before using it.
