Undertaking a garden project can be fun as it gives you the opportunity to express your creativity in the best possible manner. We all love spending time outside, so why not make your garden a sanctuary for yourself and your family on days when all you want to do is relax and unwind in the presence of nature.
Here are some simple DIY projects you can do:
Raised Garden Bed
Use palled wood to construct a raised garden bed to keep your plants stored. It is beautiful, minimalistic and easy to make.
You can use an existing birdcage and cover it with burlap, artificial leaves and sticks for a natural, simplistic look. Place artificial birds in them to complete the look.
You can place a scented candle in a bowl and surrounded with coffee beans. The warmth from the candle will help heat the coffee beans and in turn will emit a beautiful scent.
You can now encase your air-conditioner without it sticking out like an eyesore by putting it behind fencing made from pallet wood and placing shrubs around it.
Spray paint an urn in a bright colour and screw the parts together to create a cute bird bath which should fit right in with your garden decor.
You can place a barrel or a drum near the downspout and use the rain water that accumulates in it to water your plants. You will save on water while recycling rain water for use later.
Build a normal bench with pallet wood and coat it with paint in different colours. It may look like a xylophone but it will stand out.
You can use a hanging basket and crystals to create an outdoor chandelier. You can use solar lighting or even candles for outdoor lighting.
You can use stone and tiles to create a pathway which leads to your garden. It definitely adds a lot of character.
You can bury milk jugs in a pot to save on potting soil while also ensuring that the pot remains light. This will help you save on the amount of soil you place in a pot.
You can use recycled bricks to build a greenhouse outdoors and utilize windows to close the enclosure. Place your plants inside the enclosure for a perfect garden solution.
Use pallet wood to construct a beautiful garden swing which you can then hang with chains to a large steel horizontal pole. Paint the swing in a bold colour to make it really stand out.
You can create a plant column in the centre of the table – an amazing idea. Add stones to it to really make it stand out.
Add pallet wood horizontally to create a garden pathway. It definitely makes a statement especially when left in its original form.
An inexpensive way to store your seeds which you will be used for planting is in tic tac boxes. They make a cute storage solution. You can label them to keep things organized.
You can use an old truck tyre to create a pond. You will need to bury it underground and then place stones around it to give it shape before filling water into it. Surround it with plants to camouflage it.
No garden is complete without a wind chime. You can use thin metal wiring for this project. On each string, place small faux crystals in different colours to make it a colourful affair. Hang it on your front porch and listen to it calmly chime when the winds blow.
