Apple cider vinegar or ACV is a popular treatment for fluid buildup in the ears. Mix equal quantities of ACV and alcohol in a bowl. Dribble some drops of the mix into the clogged ear. Do not raise your head for some time. This will ensure that the solution stands in the ear. Remove the solution after sometime (10 minutes) using a cotton ball.

This is effective for not only reliving ear congestion, but also for clearing infection and treating stuffy ears. Add 3 crushed garlic cloves to a little olive oil and heat it for some time. The antiseptic as well as anti-inflammatory properties of the oil help cure blocked ears and infections effectively. Mix some tea tree oil with olive oil and warm the mixture a bit. In case the ear congestion or earwax is too stubborn then using glycerin is a perfect remedy. Take some drops of mineral oil or glycerin. Mix well with about ½ a glass of lukewarm water. Using a dropper put 2 to 3 drops of the liquid into the blocked ear. Make sure to keep the head tilted. Let the liquid stand for about ten minutes before draining it out.

Allergic inflammation caused because of sinus infection may be one of the reasons for ear congestion. The nasal saline spray works as a mild decongestant thereby giving you relief from the problem. All you need is 1 cup of water, ½ tsp baking soda, and ¼-1/2 tsp non-iodized salt, dropper, pan and sterilized bottle. Boil the water. Bring this sterilized water to room temperature. Now, add salt, baking soda and non-iodized salt. Fill the solution in sterilized bottle. Use this to decongest your ears and nose.
